The most common grade surprise comes from ignoring weights. A perfect homework average feels great, but if homework is only 10 percent of the grade and the final is 40 percent, the final matters four times as much. What grade do I need on my final exam?
It depends on your current grade, your target, and the final's weight. The formula is (target minus current times one-minus-weight) divided by the weight. The Final Grade Calculator does it for you and flags if the target needs a score above 100 percent.
How do I turn a test score into a letter grade?
Divide the number correct by the total and multiply by 100 for the percentage, then map it to a letter: 90 and up is an A, 80s a B, 70s a C, and so on. The Test Grade Calculator gives the percentage and letter from questions and wrong answers.
How is a semester grade calculated?
